Ultrasound
scan
You have probably had an ultrasound scan before as it is a very common investigation. A pelvic scan can be done abdominally or via the vagina. The procedure is quick, painless and gives a very useful image of your uterus (womb) and ovaries. Apart from fibroids, ultrasound can also diagnose polyps, thickened endometrium (lining of the uterus), and ovarian cysts. |
